This Beebreeders competition called for a 600 sq. ft. wine tasting room and a very large table for wine tasting. This proposal splits and rotates the edges of a 9 square grid into 8 walls perpendicular to the ceiling and floor. The rotated walls create leading lines, and the new apertures offer particular views to tell a visual story of the landscape. Articulations of the building and table are inspired by the chunky figures and opposing lines in the modernist paintings of José Almada Negreiros Joaquim Rodrigo, and renaissance paintings of Grao Vasco.
